1. Time To Completion
The following data were gathered on all students who graduated over the seven-year period between 2000 and 2006:
Total mean number of years = 6.59
Total median number of years = 6

fewer than five years = 4.5% |
five years = 20% |

The above data include both full-time (FT) and part-time (PT) students. Since most WSPP students attend part-time, the above numbers relfect longer times to completion than would be the case for students who attend FT. Data below indicate time to completion for graduates separated by FT and PT status: |
Mean for FT students = 5.1 yrs. |
Mean for PT students = 7.03 yrs. |
Mean for FT students entering at the Bachelor’s level = 5.5 yrs. |
Mean for FT students entering at the Master’s level = 4.5 yrs. |
Mean for PT students entering at the Bachelor’s level = 6.91 yrs. |
Mean for PT students entering at the Master’s level = 7.09 yrs. |
2. Program Costs
Tuition costs for the 2008-2010 academic years are $700 / credit. There is also a $50 materials fee for each assessment course. Federal student loans are available and 90% of WSPP students receive student loans. An assistantship and a scholarship are available for advanced students.
3. Internships
There were 47 doctoral graduates of WSPP from 2000-07. Of this number:
- 47 (100%) obtained internships
- 45 (96%) obtained paid internships
- 47 (100%) obtained APPIC member internships
- 5 (10.6%) obtained APA / CPA accredited internships
- Conforming to CDSPP guidelines not applicable
- 1 obtained two-year half-time internships
4. Attrition
Of the 77 students who have enrolled in the doctoral program between 2001-2007, 13, or 16.8%, have failed to complete the program. The primary causes of failing to complete the doctoral program include being counseled out for performance issues, illness and re-location with significant others.

5. Licensure
Of the 76 students who graduated from WSPP’s doctoral program between 1997-2005, 61, or 80%, have since become licensed as psychologists, the vast majority in Wisconsin. When students are added who are currently still working on their post-doctoral internship (required for licensure), the percentage rises to 90.7% (69 of 76 graduates). Of the 7 graduates who are not licensed, or working on their post-doctoral internship, 6 did not apply for licensure, and the status of the remaining graduate cannot be verified. Of the 6 who did not apply for licensure, 5 were working in settings, e.g., schools, corrections, where licensure as a psychologist was not required to maintain employment, and 1 chose not to practice due to family responsibilities.
